To start things off, we need to make this very clear. Firetrust Limited, producers of awesome software MailWasher, do not and have never owned these domain names.
www.firetrust.net.cn www.firetrust.org.cnNope! Those aren’t ours, we *do* own others like www.firetrust.com, www.firetrust.org and many more, but not those two ending in “.cn”
And to be fair, figuring out on exactly which website names to purchase can be expensive. You need to draw a line as to how far you’ll go, otherwise you could end up with hundreds of different variations. Chinese customers aren’t in our scope, therefore why own the Chinese variation of a Firetrust website.
Someone however has recently registered these domain names, and the irony is that the company (or person) who registered these website names, is using them in scammy emails. The same kind of scammy emails we posted about in the Blog on 10th March 2008.

The email looks something like this. Keep in mind when you read this email, that it’s a scam. There is no such company in China trying to register any website here, it’s a scare tactic, used to likely drum up business.

Given there is no such company that I know of legally registered in China called “Firetrust Technology Ltd”, this would seem to be a very bad attempt by the scammers to cause some negative feedback against Firetrust, after all we are naming and shaming them in the blog.
However I have to respect their choice of Departmental names “Internet Brand Justice & Safety Dept.” is one of the coolest Department names I’ve heard inside an internet based business. Sounds like something out of a Marvel Comic book.
We aren’t without our own super powers though, we did some sleuthing ourselves and found some official pictures of Jason Wang, who works in the “Internet Brand Justice & Safety Dept”
We believe though he may be taking his job too seriously, it’s not yet clear which individual is pictured to his right.

Hello everybody.
I recently received a very similar message. First I replied that I wasn't interested in buying additional domains and I didn't want to sell mine.
Their reply stated that if someone registered my Internet Brand, then my domain name (.com) would be "affected". I asked for details, but they (obviously) didn't give any, just repeated that it would be "affected".
The latest email from them included the "price list" of the domains (from 19 to 45 EUR/year) and the internet brand protection (109 EUR/year for a minimum of 10 years).

What i am refering to is that by performing a simple google search, i have found out that your company SK-Holdings is fake, that there are many other CEOs recieving emails from you about this matter, and that indeed you are a scammer.
In english the word scammer means to rip off or steal from some one. That is essentially what you are doing. One would assume that after the recent Olympic Games being held in China, and that the worlds attention was focused on such a place, that Chinese citizens such as yourself would like to show people of the world that you are honest.
However it appears that Chinese people are not honourable and are liars and robbers. If you contact me again, I will track you down and have you arrested. I am forwarding your email to the International Internet Fraud Association and to the Chinese Police.

I went to a fire retardant forum (very weak and perhaps illegite) where I saw a name, Ben Cheng, as a poster. 24 hours later my company has received this same e-mail with the name......Ben Cheng
Oddly though, I never submitted our company name or e-mail info - it was somehow extracted ?
Further, the e-mail was sent to an office other than my own, a receptionist with a different e-mail address.
Very disconcerning.
Remember the picture frames? China made these uploadable digital frames that were all the rage. Problem: when you plugged the USB connection the frame downloaded a trojan. This was embedded from the place of manufacture. US depts of commerce AND defense became involved. Seems that office workers in sensitive govt. branches were using these devices and thus an unknown number of govt. computers hacked. He was very nice and I actually asked him prices for registering these domains from China. He came back with hugely expensive EUR prices! I did however think about registering xxxx.org, xxxx.net with my own hosting company and did so. That is all that is needed now.
